Taking part in the Royal Parks Half Marathon 2025 was a great experience - made even more special by running in support of the incredible 3Pillars Project. The course itself was stunning, weaving through Hyde Park and past some of London’s most iconic landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, and Trafalgar Square. Every mile offered something new to take in, from tree-lined paths to cheering crowds. The atmosphere was electric from start to finish - it felt more like a festival than a running event! There were food and coffee stalls, live music on stage, and even a group warm-up zone that got everyone moving and smiling before we set off.
The 3Pillars Project team’s communication in the lead-up to the race was clear and supportive, making sure we all felt ready and knew exactly where to meet on the day. On race morning, the team gathered us together with energy and enthusiasm, helping calm any pre-race nerves.
During the run, it was such a lift to spot the 3Pillars cheer team along the course — twice! Their cheers, smiles, and signs gave me a huge boost, especially when my legs started to feel heavy. A special shoutout to Joe and Theone for their energy, it really made a difference.
Crossing the finish line was an amazing moment, made even better by being welcomed back into the 3Pillars community to celebrate together. The post-race atmosphere was brilliant, full of pride, relief, and that shared sense of achievement that only comes from taking on something tough together.
It was a wonderful day, and I feel proud to have represented the 3Pillars Project on such a special occasion. I’m already looking forward to running again next year!
