Since our conception, individuals from the community have approached and supported us via volunteering, we’ve had people participate in prison rugby matches and work experience programmes for young people on our courses, offers of jobs and recruitment support and a healthy number of fundraisers. Continued support and volunteering inquiries also led to the establishment of our Supporters Club, officially launched in November last year.
However, with the support of National Lottery, we can now officially announce the launch of our Volunteer programme! The funding supports the establishment our new mentoring and volunteer opportunities at our new site in Lambeth, the Black Prince Trust.
Collaboration with individuals within the sector and in the community is essential to our working model. Working with enthusiastic, like-minded individuals will widen participation and encourage increased community support for young people at risk of crime and violence by providing young people with a broad support base and further opportunities for success.
We hosted our first volunteer induction evening on the 17th of April and will to continue to run volunteer events in the future. If you would like to get involved in our volunteer opportunities, events or find out more about our Volunteer Programme, please get in touch.
