We are delighted to welcome Nicola Risbridger, who is seconded to 3 Pillars Project for six months from the Cabinet Office. 3 Pillars has been selected from other charities as a suitable host organisation for ambitious civil servants to aid their development on the prestigious Civil Service Fast Stream; by supporting innovative frontline projects. This endorsement reflects the growing trust between 3 Pillars Project and Government and adds a further stamp of legitimacy to our work.
Collaboration between Government, prisons and the Third Sector is essential to develop better outcomes for people in prison. Government buy-in allows us to develop our activities on the prison estate and, in return, provide policy makers with a unique insight into the heart of the criminal justice system and help reach some of the people that the system struggles to engage.
Nicola joins at an exciting phase of growth for the 3 Pillars Project and, as Business Development Associate, she will fulfil a vital role: to develop our digital strategy and build our partnership network. This will involve research into how digitalisation can streamline our data collection and improve our support for course graduates, as well as improving the interface between young people and our mentors in a way that is better accessible today. As well as strengthening relationships with our existing partners, Nicola will be looking to develop partnerships with companies that could offer work experience, apprenticeships and jobs to course graduates on release (if you are interested, do get in touch!)
Nicola has worked in a range of Government Departments, including the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy and the Department for Work and Pensions, and we are excited for the expertise she will bring to the role. In return, she will develop her knowledge of the charity sector, the criminal justice system and the inner workings of a new and ambitious social enterprise.
We are excited to see the fruit of Nicola’s work and trust that we will from learn as much from her as she will from us.
